Sermons From Barney Fife
Sometimes it’s easy to act like a grown man or woman, especially when it comes to standing up to or setting the example for children. After all, what harm can come to an adult when it comes to standing up to a child. Barney Fife understands this concept, there have been many times he has stood up to, taught, and been a man’s man to the kids of Mayberry, especially his best friend Andy Taylor’s son, Opie. Have you ever thought that you could set a strong example to a child? Have you ever thought there was no way a child could teach you anything? How about the ability to overpower a child with either physical prowess or even mental conditioning and knowledge?
There are all kinds of lessons to learn here, one though is that God constantly used children to prove his point. He even had young preachers, like Timothy, and a young lady, like Mary that made a difference. Then there was that little boy, about the age of Opie Taylor who took on this giant of a man like Goliath. Wouldn’t think we could think about those types of things from checking out Mayberry’s finest would you? Then again, would you?

And just like many other great preachers, Ol’ Barn has been known to put himself in the middle of those lessons, even putting at times his life on the line to make a point.
